Form is Temporary(?)

We’re less than a week away and there’s still plenty to think about when putting your Fantasy Fitba XI together.
Could last season’s performances influence your decisions? We look at the top 10 scorers from last season (still playing in the Scottish Premiership) for some food for thought.
10. Callum McGregor, Celtic, 127 points After a flying start, Callum McGregor was, for a long time, the top-scoring player in the inaugural Fantasy Fitba term. The scoring slowed in the second half of the season, but McGregor has become a key figure in a Celtic side heavily-fancied to win the title again.
9. Scott Sinclair, Celtic, 129 Considered a disappointing season by some pundits, Scott Sinclair was perhaps a victim of his individual success the year prior. Sixth in the goal charts with 10 and near the top of the assists table, it was still a fine season for the winger. Now listed as a midfielder and not a forward, he stands to profit even more from the same level of performance in 2018/19.
8. Daniel Candeias, Rangers, 132 A league leader in assists in 17/18, Daniel Candeias was devastating at times down the right of the Rangers midfield, forming a creative partnership with James Tavernier (more on him to come). Rangers have recruited big in the summer and, while Candeias seems to have retained his place in the starting XI, it is less assured.
7. Shay Logan, Aberdeen, 135 Periodically chipping in with assists and goals, it was clean sheets that gave Shay Logan his place in the top 10. The departed Anthony O’Connor ended up on the same tally as the Red finished as runners up again. A red card in the aftermath of the season’s final game means Logan serves a two-match ban at the start of 18/19.
5=. James Forrest, Celtic, 143 Like McGregor, another player revived by Brendan Rodgers and one for whom 17/18 represented their best season in a Celtic shirt. Riding high in the assists table, James Forrest has established himself as a big game player and one who can find crucial goals from the right of midfield. Expectations of the winger have never been higher.
5=. Kris Boyd, Kilmarnock, 143 The only player in the top 10 playing for a team finishing outside the top three, Kris Boyd rolled back the years with a big season for Steve Clarke’s resurgent Kilmarnock. Topping the Premiership scoring table with 18, age refused to catch up with the veteran. Having already bagged a 22-minute hat-trick in the League Cup this season, it could be more of the same.
4. Graeme Shinnie, Aberdeen, 144 The Aberdeen skipper, despite a whopping 15 yellow cards, finished as the Dons’ top performer thanks to his level of involvement in the final third and the number of clean sheets kept. Listed as a defender but playing in midfield helped his total - Aberdeen’s recruitment this summer suggests his role may well be in defence for 18/19.
3. Kieran Tierney, Celtic, 146 Assists and clean sheets aplenty and no shortage of goals, Kieran Tierney was the top point scorer for the all-conquering champions. The left back continues to be reported as the subject of £20m plus bids, but his vocal commitment to Celtic suggests he’s in no hurry to leave.
2. Josh Windass, Rangers, 155 Operating through the middle and from wide midfield, Josh Windass weighed in with plenty of goals and assists last term, finishing third in the league scoring charts with 13 and registering high in the assists table. Nevertheless, he’s not always in favour with the fans and has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer.
1. James Tavernier, Rangers, 166 Posing an attacking threat from set pieces and open play, as well as penalty taking duties, James Tavernier had a huge season from right back. Given the captaincy by Steven Gerrard, he’s already found the scoresheet in competitive matches this season in a Gers defence racking up clean sheets.
